The Queen Anne Food Bank, a ministry of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, is in great need of volunteers who can leave their homes for a short time and help during the mornings to prepare food for the homeless and all those families who now cannot count with schools to feed their kids.
The Food Bank is located across the parking lot from the church inside a basement. Its clients wait outside for food which is singly handed through the door, while the volunteers work in separate rooms inside. They provide gloves and cleaning supplies.
They will also set up a separate kitchen with minimal exposure inside the church's basement to reduce further the risk of contagion.
They need people for the following tasks/time:
Sandwich prep 7:00 am to 8:30 am.
Soup makers anytime after 8:30 am.
Prepping salads and bagging goods: 8:30 am to 11:30, any time and even until 2 pm if needed.
